Mathew Weir and Rakesh Patel met again in the Final of the Junior Club Championships, after also meeting in the semi-final of the Open Grade Championships only a few weeks ago.  On that occasion Rakesh won and went on to contest and lose the final to Peter Cahi.  A tight struggle looked in prospect.

 

Rakesh went out to an early lead which was pegged back and Mathew was 1up after 9 holes, and this lead was slightly extended to 2up after the morning round.  Mathew showed great determination to keep ahead of Rakesh and by the middle of the afternoon round he was out to 3up.  The match finished on the 14th green in the afternoon with a solid win to Mathew.

 

Congratulations to both Mathew & Rakesh, our club is in good heart when our junior players are also contesting the later stages of the Open Grade Championships too.
