The Intermediate and Junior Match Play Finals were played on Saturday - 36 holes. The Junior final was between Cameron Turner and Colin McGowan with Colin holding a +2 lead after the morning round. Cameron came back at him in the afternoon and was heading for the win early in the back 9. However Colin refused to give in and hauled him back taking the match to extra holes - probably just what he didn't want! Cameron won the 37th hole to put his name on the trophy.
The Intermediate match was between Logan Driver (Presidents Pennants team) and Andrew Millard (Vice Captains Pennant team). Andrew led after 9 holes (Mike Maingay caddied for him and must have thought his work was done because he left him then). Logan then won 4 holes in a row and led by 2 going into the afternoon. With a bit tooing and froing in the afternoon Logan won the title 3/1.
Congratulations Cameron and Logan. Logan now is off on a bit of an OE - we look forward to him returning later in the year.
