On Saturday the Open Grade Match Play Championship was played between the defending Champion - Matthew Cormack & Karl Jorgensen. It seemed to take Karl some time to warm up as he found himself 4down after 9 holes. The back nine in the morning went his way though as he got back 2 holes by the 18th.
In the afternoon another shakey start saw Karl lose the 1st hole to be back to 3down. A par on the 4th, a conceded birdie on the 7th and a par on the 8th saw Matthew make the turn 6up. The 10th hole was halved in pars but birdies on the 11th and 12th finished the match for Matty 8/6. Karl couldn't do too much to turn the match around - Matthew was -2 when it finished on the 12th green. Congratulations, Matty - back to back Championships.
The Winter Cup Semi Finals were played with Brooke Hibberdine beating Igor Ivanov (3/1) and Warren Bygrave 5/4 over Peter McCormack. Brooke and Warren will meet in the final this coming Saturday.
