Speed of Play

We’ve had some great feedback from our ladies following the email sent regarding speed of play. Another important point to mention is knowing when it’s time to pick up your ball.

There's not much point in going into double figures on a hole. Not only is it going to slow down your game but it's probably going to make you frustrated and perhaps a little discouraged.

So, here's a good rule of thumb. In a Par or Stableford competition pick up your ball immediately you find you cannot score in the competition. Do not continue to play the hole. For handicap purposes there is no point in finishing out the hole if you have had too many shots. Pick up your ball and enter 2 strokes over your par for the hole and circle that figure. Your par is the course par for the hole plus how many additional shots you are allowed on your handicap.

Picking up ends the hole and potential frustration and gives a chance for you to relax and re-focus for the next hole. That's a good thing.
