The next round of Top Cat is not until September 10 when hopefully the worst of the winter rains will have disappeared.

Get Well Soon

Our best wishes to Sabra Davies who has just had a hip replacement operation which will hopefully see her back on the golf course later in the year at full strength.

A big thank you to Sabra for all her work producing the weekly newsletter and all the other jobs she does. Weekly Rule/Tip

Clean and Place

When Playing conditions are ‘15cm clean and place through the green’ this will be printed on your card. Check before you tee off.

‘Through the green’ means anywhere on the course EXCEPT in hazards (bunkers are hazards too) or on the green.

Before you pick up your ball to clean you must place a marker (tee) behind the ball. Then lift, clean and return to place up to 15cm around that marker but no closer to the hole.

Given winter conditions it's a good idea to

1) use a bright long tee if possible

2) keep a small cloth or rag in your pocket to clean the ball

This means you don't need to walk back to your trundler to clean the ball and a bright tee means it's a lot easier to find where to place it again.

Both help speed of play.
