A full round of Youth Pennants was played yesterday - our Division 1 teams at Whitford Park, while the Division 2 teams were at Windross Farm and Pakuranga.

In Division 1 the teams played each other - Remuera 1 vs Remuera 2, and the matches were extremely competitive!  It resulted in a 3.5-0.5 win to Remuera 1 but 3 of the matches went all the way to the final hole.  Nathan Smith beat Robby Turnbull (1up), Karl Jorgensen beat Grace Jung (1up) and Kahu Tataurangi and Kelly Wu halved.  The other winner was Andrew Meng over Larenzo Aguilar.  The other results were comprehensive wins to Royal Auckland/Grange (4-0) over Pakuranga, and Akarana (4-0) over Titirangi.  The points table looks like this, bearing in mind only the Remuera teams and Whitford Park have had their bye round:
RAGGC & Akarana      8pts
Remuera 1                 7.5pts
Pakuranga                  5pts
Whitford Park              4pts
Remuera 2                  3.5pts
Titirangi                      0pts
This week at Pakuranga - Remuera 1 vs Titirangi and Remuera 2 vs Whitford Park, while RAGGC play Akarana.

In Division 2 Section A our team endured extremely tough conditions at Windross Farm losing by 0.5-3.5.  Sarah Murchison secured the half, while Jackson Pirihi and Hannah Murchison only lost on the final hole.  Titirangi has now jumped out to a lead in this division with 2 rounds to go.  The points are:
Titirangi               10pts
Maungakiekie         8pts
Remuera 1             5.5pts
RAGGC                   5pts
Pakuranga               4pts
Windross Farm         3.5pts
This division has 2 rounds to play - this weekend vs RAGGC at Pakuranga and then a rescheduled match at Titirangi vs Windross Farm on August 5th.

In Section B our team secured a very good win over Pakuranga against the home team by 2.5-1.5.  This has pushed them into the lead with just one round to go at Titirangi this weekend against Whitford Park.  The wins were gained by Cherie Young and Chloe Lam, with Finlay McKechnie getting the half to get the team over the line.  The points are:
Remuera 2            10.5pts
Pakuranga             10pts
Titirangi                  8.5pts
Franklin                  8pts
Whitford Park           6pts
Akarana                  5pts
The key matches for us are ours vs Whitford Park, while Pakuranga play Akarana.  As long as we get as many points as Pakuranga they will qualify for the final at the end of the season.
