In very calm conditions the Bisset Shield played Titirangi at The Grange for a place in the Final against Akarana.  It promised to be very close (as it should be) and that is exactly how it panned out.  James Ashwin and Chris Goad started confidently and both held narrow leads during the front 9 holes.  Behind them it was a similar story for Rakesh Patel and Andrew Meng.  Andrew Hipkiss and Scott Robertson lost some early holes but this was balanced out by Matthew Cormack and James Eng taking early leads.

From the beginning of the back nine it was still too close to pick.  While James Eng and Rakesh Patel were getting closer to good wins, this was evened out by likely losses to Scott and Andrew Hipkiss.  James Ashwin and Andrew Meng held narrow advantages but the results were heading the other way with Chris Goad and Matthew Cormack.  Adam Baker was finding it difficult to decide which matches to keep a close eye on!

The first completed match saw a loss to Chris Goad, but Rakesh finished his match with a win on the 15th - 1-1.  Scott Robertson also lost early but then James Eng won his match also on the 15th - 2-2.  Matthew Cormack & Andrew Hipkiss both lost, while James Ashwin won his match on the last hole - 3-4.  This left Andrew Meng to hopefully secure a vital win and a play-off.  Playing 17th Andrew was 1up and a solid par looked like it might finish it off, but his opponent holed a long putt to take the match down the final hole.

The 18th tee has now been tucked in on the other side of the greenkeepers sheds creating a strange dog-leg around the practice area which is OOB.  Andrew's tee shot hit the large trees on the side of the practice area and unfortunately bounced OOB.  He went on to lose the hole and his half put Titirangi through.

Congratulations to Adam Baker and the Bisset Shield team for a good season - 3rd overall.
