Each grade played a 36 hole match play final on Saturday May 14th. Conditions were perfect - no wind and the skies cleared for a beautiful day.
In the D Grade Peter Davies got out to an early lead over Andy Kelly in the morning and consolidated that lead throughout the round - 3up at the lunch break.
The C Grade final between Paul Stewart and Andy Horsfall it was much more even and Paul held a narrow advantage going into the afternoon.
The Junior final saw Larry Sewell establish a strong lead over Jack Kirkland-Smith throughout the morning round, while in the Intermediate division John Sims won 2 holes late in the morning to go into lunch 3up over Bobby Schoonraad.
The Open Grade saw Thai Leng and Matthew Cormack battle back and forth in the morning with never more than 1 hole in it - Thai led by 1 at lunch.
The afternoon rounds saw the D Grade final in Peter Davies hands with 9 holes to play but Andy Kelly produced a wonder comeback to win on the 36th hole. Paul Stewart & Andy Horsfall continued to battle and this match also finished on the final hole in Paul's favour. Two great finals!
The Junior and Intermediate finals were both over early. Larry Sewell winning 9/8 and John Sims by 7/6. The Open Grade continued to be very close with never more than 1 hole in it and finally went to Matthew Cormack 1up.
