The final of the GM's prize was played on Saturday afternoon in steadily worsening conditions.  Bruce Walkley & Murray Hieatt were very close throughout with never more than 1 hole the difference.  Bruce finally held a slender lead going into the last 3 holes & needed a birdie 4 on the 16th to halve that hole.  Two more halves on the last 2 holes saw him take out the trophy 1Up and a deserved win as the rain really set in...extra holes would have been tough in those conditions.  Congratulations, Bruce.

 

One semi-final of the Captains Prize had already been decided with Alex Bagley overcoming our Open Grade Champion, Peter Cahi.  Alex shot a fabulous 75 to defeat Peter and thoroughly deserved his place in the upcoming final on Queens Birthday weekend.

 

Lyall Brown played Greg Scott in the other semi final on Saturday and in another very close contest he prevailed 1up.

 

Lyall and Alex will meet over 36-holes on Queens Birthday Saturday - best of luck to both players.
