Two frosts last week both Wednesday and Saturday as well as 70mm of rain in the last 7 days. That bringing the total of rainfall for June at 219mm with an average of 130mm for June. Year to date brings the tally up to 970mm.

Golfers comments are still enjoying play on the front 9 and the back 9 has seen the introduction to 13a in play. The boys are laying mulch down this week as a footpath from 13a Green to 14 tees to help with the extra foot traffic. Forecast is looking clear for the week so a lot of tidy up jobs will be the goal this week. Plugging on the 12 and 14 Green were a success also.

Dads Army welcome back Captain Jim Holmes back from his holiday abroad we hope your well rested and in typical Jim form, out fixing the fence line on our driveway. The rest of the army are on the 8th tee area tidying up.

Player Profile: Callum Cameron


Callum has been with RGC nearly 4 Years, started as a labourer then progressed to starting his apprenticeship. Callum was Runner up in the AGCSA Trainee of the year 2 years in a row. He was lucky enough to Volunteer in the 2017 LPGA Ladies Open back in September at Windross Farm GC. He also offered his skills down in Queenstown at this year’s NZ Open held at Millbrook Resort. Callum’s dedication to the job has seen him been appointed as the Assistant Superintendent back in October. He’s an avid Golfer and likes to get out and play as many different golf courses as possible. He likes to think he’s rather handy. Callum is hoping to be Finished up his Level 4 studies by the end of the year.
