What a difference some ‘small changes’ can make!! In an effort to encourage people to enjoy winter golf more and thereby increase participation, The Match Committee came up with some moves that a huge majority are very happy with. Firstly, the Course has been ‘shortened’ to within the allowable limits without the need for re-rating in an effort to simulate ‘summer conditions’ and secondly, ‘clean & place’ through the green is now one club length.

And how pleased were the participants in last Thursday’s Scramble, when nine entrants scored better than their handicap.

Results of the Scramble, played on Thursday 19 July:-

1st = Judy Kwok (41 Points OCB)

2nd = Vivian Zhu (41 Points)

3rd = Mary Pope (40 Points)

There were three 2’s; Judy Hart, Julie Hawkes and Esther Cowper

The third round of Coronation Cup was played today, and results were as follows:-

1st = Deryl York (+5)

2nd = Susie Simcock (+4)

3rd = Mary Pope (+3)

There were two 2s = Julie Hawkes and Diane Rackham

With one round left to play, the leaders after three rounds are:- Deryl York (-2), followed by Laraine Bagshaw, Vivian Zhu and Gail Mackenzie, all on -4

Reminders:-

The re-scheduled TopCat (#4) is being played next Tuesday; email Karen if you haven‘t already entered (karent@remueragolfclub.com) . Draw will be done on Thursday. If your partner is not available, there will be space at the end for ‘singles’.

The competition for Tuesday, 7th August is a fun event “Dots & Putts”. Book yourself a tee-time directly on to the DotGolf site.

Note: Please ensure you always tee off from the YELLOW tees – if you inadvertently tee off from the incorrect tee, you incur a two shot penalty (in strokeplay) and you must replay your shot from the yellow tee.
