Please note the following changes to competition dates from those printed in the calendar:

Club Championship:

This is played across two rounds with a Best Gross and Best Nett winner. The rescheduled dates for play (to avoid school holidays) are Monday 15 October and Wednesday 17 October.

The winners will be awarded their prizes at the Club Champs Dinner on Thursday 18 October. The Best Gross winner is invited to play in the Champion of Champions on Monday 5 November at Onewhero Golf Course. Sign up details for this competition will be next month. We would like to encourage as many players as possible to participate.

Top Cat:

The remaining two rounds are scheduled on Monday 10 Sept and Monday 12 November. Please note that this second date has been changed (from Monday 5 Nov) in order to avoid clashing with the Champion of Champions event.

There are still available tee times for the Ambrose Competition on Wednesday the 29th of August.

The sign up form is on the notice board so enter a team of 4 or just put your name down and we’ll make sure you get a tee time. $2.00 entry fee payable at the pro-shop on the day. Entries close on Tuesday 21st August.

PLAYING BY THE RULES AND CORRECT SCORING

In the next few months we have a number of competitions scheduled so it’s an opportune time to remind all players of your obligations to know the rules (as best you can) and score accordingly. Of course the goal is to go out and have a good time but if you are playing with something on the line, then you must play with integrity. Apart from normal club play this also means Scrambles, Ambrose, Top Cat or Club Champs. Some of the main points to watch when scoring are;

Count all shots

(including any air shots)

Play the lie

(as instructed on your card)

No Mulligans

( A Mulligan is a second chance to perform an action, usually after the first chance went wrong through bad luck or a blunder)

Gimmes

(Not in a competition)
