Last week (Monday to Friday) the Junior Inter Provincial tournament was held at the Cambridge Golf Club.  The weather was perfect nearly all week and the standard of golf was very high.  Connor Barker captained out team of 6 players - 4 x Under 19 and 2 x Under 16.

As it turned out our crucial match was against Otago on Wednesday morning as both teams were undefeated for the rest of the week.  A very narrow 2.5-3.5 loss put us into the play-off for 3rd/4th against Canterbury, while Otago were up against Wellington in the final.  We finished 4th after losing 2-4 to Canterbury.

Also last week Robby Turnbull travelled to Australia to play in the Jack Newton Junior tournament.  His rounds of 75, 73, 72 and 81 (301) resulted in him winning the 11 Years event by a massive 18 shots!  Congratulations Robby on a magnificent result.

At Waipu Daniel Freeman teed it up in the Spring Classic (54 holes).  His rounds of 76,72 & 76 (224) had him tied for 14th in the Open Division - awesome effort, Daniel.

This week the Girls Inter Provincial is being played and we have 3 players in a 6-person team.  Congratulations to Grace Jung, Kelly Wu and Sarah Murchison.  We will report on their progress next week.

In the Barfoot & Thompson Meadowbank Challenge Ben Manning extended his winning run to now 5 challenges with a 4/3 win over Jaime Lansi.  Ben is looking for a challenger this week that would bring him level with Harrison Bright's record of 6 consecutive wins.

The North Shore Golf Club held their Junior Classic on Monday.  Jaime Lansi was our best finisher with his 75 leaving him T4th, while Daniel Freeman backed up his good performance at Waipu with a 79 to finish T14th in the low handicap division. In Division 2 Eamon Wairepo shot 78 (2nd), Finlay McKechnie 88 (T11th), Cameron Fletcher (96) and Lachlan Fletcher (98).

This week Nathan Smith and Mary Chen are playing in the Eagles Tournament in Christchurch.
