On Sunday the Club Champions (Open, Intermediate & Junior) from around Auckland contested the Champion of Champions.  There were 2 trophies up for grabs - Connor Barker in the Open Grade (a gross event); and our Open, Intermediate and Junior Champions in the club stableford event.

Connor held off Joshua Leitch from Maungakiekie over 36 holes to win the Open Grade.  He shot 72 in the morning and 75 in the afternoon to win by 2 shots.  Mark O'Malley from Royal Auckland/Grange was a further 4 shots back.  Congratulations, Connor.

In the team stableford event we held a lead after the morning round where all players were pretty steady - Connor (36pts), Oliver Foote (32pts) and Erik Jorgensen (35pts) - 103pts.  Our nearest challengers were Titirangi, Royal Auckland/Grange and Whitford Park.

In the afternoon Connor (32pts), Oliver (33pts) and Erik (20pts) - a total of 188pts were passed by Royal Auckland/Grange (191pts) and Titirangi (189pts).  It was a tough day for all players - the wind was a strong southwesterly & the greens were hard & fast.  This showed in some low scores even in the Open Grade where the average gross score over 36 holes was in the low 160s - 2 rounds in the low 80s!
