9 Hole Women's Golf update

OPENING DAY 2019 Monday 11th February
If you haven’t registered already for the 9.00am Shotgun start Ambrose, ($2 entry payable on the day) do it now! Entries close on Tuesday 5th February when the draw will be done.

On the day can you please make sure you are at the club by 8.30 to be able to get to your starting tee on time.

After golf, there will be a small prize presentation while we all enjoy a coffee and catch up. Please remember to bring loose change for a raffle to be held during this time.

Register for Opening Day on the Club website as follows:

Go to www.remueragolfclub.com and use your member login and password. Click on the ‘Membership’ tab along the top then scroll down the left-hand side. Just under the Members Login details there is a box titled “9 Hole Women’s Opening Day”. Click on the “Register” button and when the CONFIRMATION message comes up click on that. Entries close on Tuesday 5 February, when the draw is done.

If you have difficulty with this, please email Jo Hollies johollies@xtra.co.nz or Linda Brown linbrown@outlook.co.nz and we can register for you.

REGULAR SCRAMBLES

This year we will be having a Scramble on alternate Mondays and Wednesdays (unless there is a special event). The first Scramble will be Wednesday 13th February followed by Monday 18th February. Book as usual on Dotgolf and enter on the day with a $2 entry fee payable.

We encourage you to enter these fun competitions regardless of your handicap. It is often the higher handicapped players who win! This is good chance too to remember when playing in any competition:

- Count every shot, including air-shots (Always, not just on competition days!).

- Player and marker should announce how many shots they have had when on the green BEFORE putting and ensure both agree.

- No ‘gimmies’ on the green.

NEW RULES REMINDER The new rules came into effect on January 1st. This week’s reminder:

Playing your Ball in Bunker

REMOVING LOOSE IMPEDIMENTS AND MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS; Before playing your ball in a bunker, you may remove loose impediments and movable obstructions.

DATES TO DIARY
Monday 4th March - Top Cat Round 1 (Entry list going up on board Opening Day, along with a Partners Wanted list.

Monday 11 March – Greensome Foursomes (amended date)

Thursday 14th March – Cocktail Party 4.30 – 6.00pm (Details to follow, keep an eye on the Wrap!)

Just a reminder that this early part of the year is a popular time for other Auckland golf clubs to hold their Nine Hole Open Days. This is a great opportunity to play at other courses at a minimal charge…. and maybe win a prize at the same time if you’re lucky! You’ll be reminded of these closer to the time and an entry sheet will go up on the notice board for each Open Day. However, just to give you a little notice in advance you might like to give some consideration to the following:

Clarks Beach - 25 February (ENTRY SHEET NOW UP ON NOTICE BOARD)

Followed by: Maramarua (15 March), Pakuranga (21 March), Whitford Park (11 April).

Enjoy this wonderful golfing weather we are having girls!
