The second full round of Men's Pennants was played on Sunday.  Excellent results for the Bissett Shield (2 wins from 2), Inter Club III (2 wins from 2), and Vice Presidents (first win of the season).

The Bissett Shield were at Maungakiekie against Howick and after a slowish start over the first 9 holes pulled away to very strong 6-2 win.  James Ashwin led us out and was quickly in control of his match going on to win 8/6!  James Kim looked like he would add a second win but gave up the last 3 holes for a half.  Other wins to Tomas Shaw (3/1), Rakesh Patel (4/3), James Eng (3/2) and finally Connor Barker (2up) were added to by Matthew Cormack's half.  This leaves us tied on 11pts at the top of the table with Titirangi.  This week we are at home against Maungakiekie.

The Presidents team containing a strong junior element narrowly lost 3-5 to Waiuku at Waiuku - wins to Callum Cameron, Logan Driver and Jaime Lansi have us in mid-table and needing a good result this weekend against Royal Auckland/Grange at home.

The Vice Presidents side fought back from a loss in the first weekend to record a very solid win over Clarks Beach's top team at Maungakiekie.  Wins to Michael Maingay, Andrew Millard, Nick Matijasevich, Daniel Whittaker and Roger Hudson pushed us up into the top half of the table.  This week also at home we play Akarana.

The Division II Inter Club has unfortunately lost twice - this week to Clarks Beach 3-5 with wins to Steve Callinan, John Etzine & Alex McKay.  They are currently bottom of the table and will be focused on NOT finishing there.  They would not live down being passed by the Division 3 team who are going very well after 2 wins and lead their division by 1.5pts.  This week is an important game for Igor Ivanov's team against Akarana (currently 2nd) at Whitford Park - good luck, guys!  The Division 2 team will need to turn their season around against Maramarua at Maramarua - a tough match against the home side.
