In case you haven’t noticed when you check in on Tuesday and Thursday, on the Pro Shop counter there is a notice about the competition including who the match committee for the day are. Please could you take the time to read it as, apart from this newsletter, it is one of the few other ways we can communicate anything of note in relation to the competition.

Results

Last Tuesday’s LGU results were in the Weekly Wrap, the twos money for that day was shared by Carol White, Tina Chai and Nicola Judd. Last Thursday’s scramble winners, after countback, were: Silver/Bronze 1 – Annie Tam (37points) Marlene Watson (35) and Jane Lewis (35); Bronze 2/3 – Jillian Bartlett (41) Cathy Hutchinson (36) and Shirley Ip (35). The twos money was shared by Kirsty Fyfe, Marlene Watson and Elaine Lau.

Master’s Trophy

The draw is on the noticeboard. First round matches to be played by 4 April. There is a note on the draw of the Club’s General Terms of Competition that applies to a match is not played by the due date.

Nancy MacCormick Foursomes (5 and 7 March)

Please note to be eligible for a District or National prize you must tee-off on the first hole you play with a Srixon golf ball and you will be required to record on your score card if you have done so. See the event poster on the notice board. This also applies to the Home Links stroke play events on the following Tuesday.

The draw is on DotGolf for both days. There are some tee-times free for those not playing foursomes. 

Club Match Play Championships (enter by March 5 for qualifying on 12 March)

Registration has opened on the Remuera website. Entries close 10:00 Tuesday 5 March, there will be no late entries. There is a separate competition for each division. There needs to be a minimum of six qualifiers in a division for there to be an 8 draw and a minimum of 12 qualifiers for a 16 draw. Qualifying and match play is gross, and all matches are over 18 holes this year. Further details are on the notice board in the locker room.

LGU & Home Links Stroke Play Events (Tuesday 12 March)

These are being played at the same time as the Club Match Play qualifying. The tee-times off the 1^st tee will be reserved for those who have entered the Match Play qualifying. Those who are not entered may book a tee time off the 10^th tee when the tee-sheet opens, there will be no divisions set up and you may book a time that suits.

Cocktail Function (14 March, 4:30 to 6:00)

As most of you will have heard we are having a cocktail function to provide an opportunity for all the women’s sections of the Club to get together. There will be a cash bar and canapes. So we have some idea of numbers, if you are coming please could you add your name to the sheet on the ledge in front of the notice board in the Locker room.

Pennants

Results for the last week were: Midweek section A – loss;  Weekend Women  - win; A Pennants - win.

The Weekend team had another great win and are sitting top of their section, with a 5 point lead. 

The A Pennants team got their season off to a great start. They made the best of their home course advantage with 5 wins and a half.
