It was Finals Day on Saturday for the Match Play Club Champs.  The early morning start for the Open and Intermediate grades was delayed by 90 minutes due to fog but got underway at 9am.  Rakesh Patel established a 3up lead after 18 holes over Nathan Smith in the Open Grade, while the Intermediate match between Ty Ngo and Chris Hanley was all square at the lunch break.

In the afternoon Nathan pegged Rakesh back and with 8 holes to go had got in front.  He finished the match off 3/2 on the 16th green and became our youngest winner of the Open Grade - congratulations, Nathan.  Ty and Chris continued to battle it out and Ty finally prevailed 2/1 to put his name on the trophy.

In the Junior final Bruce Renshaw proved too experienced beating Michael Wright 4/3, while there were narrower victories for David Hartstone (2/1) over Paul Hurtley, and Michael Egan over Clive Walker by 3/1.

Congratulations - new names on each trophy!
