18 Hole Women’s Weekly News – Tuesday 2 April 2019

Tee-Times

Our concerns about the pressure on booking tee-times on Tuesday and Thursday morning have been answered and from now on all these tee-times will initially be allocated to the women. Four days out any unused tee-times at the start and the end of the field will be released and men members will be able to book them as well.

Champions Dinner

Some of you queried why there was no dinner following last weeks match play championships. Two years ago, the Club Match & Golf Committee directed that our Women’s Club Champion should be our stroke play rather than our match play champion. So, this year we swapped the scheduling of these two championships, and the Champions Dinner in October will follow our Jubilee Stroke Play Championship.

Results

Last Tuesday there were five twos (Annie Tam, Tina Lucas, Pauline Harrison, Kath Howe (x2)). Thursday there were two twos (Jillian Bartlett, Laurel Hawkins).

The Tuesday $3 scramble winners were: Silver/Bronze 1 – Annie Tam, Kath Howe, Pauline Harrison, Cadia Vansambeek; Bronze2/3 – Marlene Mak, Catherine Wharfe, Sandra Condon, Maureen Horner.

The Thursday scramble winners were: Laurel Hawkins, Lyn Kempthorne, Jillian Bartlett.

Your winnings have been credited to your house account, which you can see on the Remuera website under Membership/My Account.

Charity Day (Tuesday 16 April)

Please try and get your entries in by this Thursday, so we can get the draw done. The format will be Pinehurst (also known as American) Foursomes, so you will need to enter with a partner (18 or 9 hole member). Register on the entry sheet in the Locker Room and pay your entry fee ($20) in the Pro Shop (please remember to pay and record on the entry sheet that you have paid). All funds raised will go to the Halberg Foundation.
