It was raining when we started at 8.30 on Saturday morning and still raining when we finished about 5pm!!!  This didn't seem to effect the quality of the scoring.  After the morning round Kevin Fairbrother & Gillies Pakieto held a narrow lead on the field (39pts).  3 teams were tucked in behind on 37pts - Finlay McKechnie/Colin McGowan; Matthew Cormack/James Ashwin & Stephen Bryers/Warren Bygrave.

 

Unbelievably and against the weather forecast the rain set in for the afternoon and it was a testament to the course conditions that it remained playable despite standing water on the fairways and some flooding on the greens.  Peter Turner and John Johnson returned an incredible 47pts (75 gross off a 16 handicap)!  They cleared out from the field to win by 5pts from Finlay McKechnie/Colin McGowan on a count-back from Matthew Cormack/James Ashwin.  Wayne Hirt & Michael Wright won the best afternoon round prize after the top 3 were found.
