As dominant a win as we achieved at Pakuranga last Sunday in the semi-final, we were on the receiving end of a big loss in the Final against Titirangi.  While it was reasonably close during the front 9 holes, the trend was not our friend through the back nine.

There was light rain when we started but the day cleared and was reasonably fine for the rest of the morning.  Tomas Shaw and Rakesh Patel held narrow leads at the turn, as did James Eng.  While we were down in the other matches they were all close so it was still all to play for on the back nine.  Rakesh was the only player to consolidate his advantage and was 3up with 7 to play.  Sadly the other matches were pretty much all heading in the reverse direction.

Rakesh completed a very good 4/2 win and his playing partner, Tomas went all the way to the last hole, losing 1 down.  Meanwhile Cameron Harlock lost 5/4, Connor Barker lost 5/3, James Eng and Thai Leng both lost with 2 holes to play.  Dell Bain lost 2/1 and then Matthew Cormack chipped in for an eagle on the 18th green to secure our other half point.

Congratulations to the players on another very good season where we fell only just short.  Next year we will be missing Connor Barker and Cameron Harlock as they are off to the USA for their College Scholarships.  We will be keeping an eye on their progress and wish them well.  2020 will be an opportunity for some players in the Presidents team to step up into Bissett.
