The past week has been an incredible one for some of our juniors.

Both the Junior Boys and Girls had their Inter Provincial tournaments - boys at Cambridge and the girls at Rotorua.  In the boys team we had Nathan Smith, Robby Turnbull and Steven Oh as a part of the team (with Robby as the travelling reserve).  The boys defeated North Harbour, Hawkes Bay, Northland, Waikato and Wellington in the round robin before beating Bay of Plenty in the final by 3.5-2.5.  This is the first win for Auckland since 2007!  Steven won 5 and lost 1 at the top of the order - a great record; Nathan only had 1 loss by the narrowest of margins, while Robby won all 3 of the matches that he played.

In the girls event we had Aileen Du, Kelly Wu and Chloe Lam in the team.  They beat Waikato, Bay of Plenty Blue, Wellington, and Bay of Plenty Yellow plus a narrow loss to Manawatu-Wanganui before losing to North Harbour in the final.  Aileen won 4 & lost 2 matches; Kelly won 4 and lost 2; Chloe won 1 and lost 5 but in each match was giving up a huge number of shots in the handicap section.  Aileen also recorded an albatross on a par 5 - holing out with a 5-iron for 2!

Meanwhile in Christchurch Mary Chen won the DVS Open at Pegasus on the Charles Tour.  Mary shot 72, 81, 72 and 74 (299) to win by 3 shots from Vivian Lu from RAGGC.  Congratulations, Mary - fantastic to win a Charles Tour event.

Back in Auckland a number of our juniors played at Maungakiekie in the annual Leo Hendry Tournament last Monday.  In the boys Division 1 - Eamon Wairepo (76) was 4th, while Tony Jung and William Kelly (78) were T6th.  Finlay McKechnie shot 79 for 9th place.  Finlay is representing Auckland at the annual Eagles Tournament this week and we will post that result in the next weekly wrap.  In Division 2 - Ishaan Shah (79) was the winner, Max Clarke (82) and Gary Yuan (89) also performed well.

In the Titirangi Girls Classic - Grace Jung (74) was T4th, Chloe Lam (80), Kelly Wu (81), Sarah Murchison (89) and Hannah Murchison (91) gave us a great representation.

This has been an incredibly busy week and there are also tournaments at Pukekohe and Clarks Beach this week.  Great to see so many of our juniors doing so well especially at the highest level.
