Men’s Pennant competition was cancelled on Sunday as a result of the COVID lock-down.  As there are no available spare weekends to re-schedule this round, Auckland Golf declared all pennant results as 4-4 draws.
Provided we come back to at least Level 2 by Sunday the 5th round will be played on this Sunday (March 7th).

Bissett Shield recorded a 4-4 draw away to Akarana, which means that the points table looks like this:
RAGGC – 19.5
REMUERA – 19
Akarana – 17
Pakuranga – 8.5

On Sunday we are scheduled to play Pakuranga at Pakuranga, while RAGGC are at home to Akarana.  A good win at Pakuranga will be vital to making the semi-finals, as our final game is at home to RAGGC (Akarana are at home to Pakuranga in their final match.)  While Pakuranga is out of contention for the semi-finals, they can certainly play a part in deciding which teams go through.

Championship 1 were posted with a 4-4 draw away to Windross Farm.  Our 9.5pt lead was maintained and a semi-final spot virtually certain.  This week we are away to Pukekohe, while Windross Farm are away to the weakest team in the group, Maungakiekie.  Our final match against Maungakiekie on Sunday-week should also confirm our top spot in the group, hopefully!

Championship 2 will need two big wins in the final rounds – away to Titirangi this Sunday, and finally at home to Whitford Park to progress to the semi-finals – but it’s not impossible.

Inter Club 2 have their fate in their own hands.  On Sunday they are at home to Maramarua.  They are currently tied with them for the second semi-final spot, so a good win at home will make the final round a more clear-cut proposition.  In their final round they are away to Formosa, whom they beat 8-0 on the opening day.  Simple – 2 wins and you should be there.

Inter Club 3 are also at home on Sunday, against Pukekohe.  This team is in a 3-way tie with Whitford Park and Pukekohe, and their final match is against Whitford Park at Whitford.  So the equation is simple – 2 wins and they’ll definitely be in the semi-finals, but anything less will mean they are hoping for favourable results in the other matches.
