Local Rules

LOCAL RULES. To be read in conjunction with the Local Rules Board.

 

OUT OF BOUNDS (RULE 18.2)

  • Out of Bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes, boundary fence posts and walls.
  • Where white lines are used, white stakes are only indicators.
  • Internal Out of Bounds – right of the 16th hole
    • The margin of the Out of Bounds is marked by white stakes.
    • The stakes are Immovable Obstructions when playing any other hole.
    • This area is Out of Bounds ONLY when playing the 16th hole.

    PENALTY AREA 3RD HOLE (RULE 17)

    The boundary of the red Penalty Area is marked by stakes and a line. Where the line is not visible the concrete edging and rocks are in the Penalty Area. The boundary of the Penalty Area is the course side of the rocks and concrete. A ball touching the rocks or concrete is in the Penalty Area.

     

    TEMPORARY PUTTING GREENS (RULE 13.1f)

    A temporary green is a Wrong Green when not in use. Free relief must be taken when any part of the player’s ball touches the Wrong Green or the green interferes with the player’s Stance or area of intended swing.

     

    PREFERRED LIES (IF IN OPERATION) (RULES 14.2b(2) AND 14.2e)

    When a player’s ball lies in the General Area, the player may take free relief once by placing a ball within 15cms of the spot where the original ball lay not nearer the hole.

    The ball must be placed in the General Area. The ball may be cleaned.

     

    ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (INCLUDING IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS) (RULE 16-1)

    • Any area encircled by a white line is Ground Under Repair.
    • Scoured areas in Bunkers.
    • Vehicle ruts in the General Area.
    • Drains under construction, new and sunken drains.
    • Turf nursery to the left of the 5th hole.
    • Areas of “spongy turf” defined as ground which significantly changes shape when a player applies weight to it yet no Temporary Water appears on the surface.
    • Formed paths, including stone and shell covered paths.
    • Plastic non-slip matting with or without grass growing through.
    • Immovable Obstructions (e.g. sprinkler heads) close to the Putting Green. If a ball lies in the General Area and an Immovable Obstruction is: on the line of play, is within two club lengths of the Putting Green, and is within two club lengths of the ball, relief may be taken.
     

    INTEGRAL OBJECTS (RULE 2.3)

    Bark covered areas and gardens are integral parts of the Course.

     

    STOPPING AND RESUMING PLAY (RULE 5.7)

    • Suspension of play for a dangerous situation will be signalled by one prolonged note of the siren.
    • Play MUST be discontinued immediately.
    • All other suspensions will be signalled by three repeated notes of the siren.
    • In either case, resumption of play will be signalled by two short notes of the siren.
     

    CODE OF CONDUCT (RULE 1.2b)

    All players must conduct themselves with the highest levels of integrity, consideration for others and care of the course. See Local Rules Board for the Code of Conduct and penalty structure.

     

    PACE OF PLAY POLICY (RULE 5.6b)

    • Slow play is unacceptable.
    • Pre-shot routines should be tailored so a stroke is made within 40 seconds
    • Provisional Balls should be played whenever a ball may be lost or out of bounds

    • READY GOLF IS EXPECTED

    Match Play – Loss of Hole

    Stroke Play – Two strokes

     

    DISTANCE MARKERS ARE TO THE CENTRE OF THE GREEN

    RED – 90 metres

    WHITE – 135 metres

    BLUE – 180 metres
