In perfect winter golf conditions the Winter Cup Final was played on Saturday. Brooke Hibberdine and Warren Bygrave were close throughout the front nine holes but Brooke put a break on early on the back nine and consolidated his position to win 5/4. Congratulations, Brooke.
We now go into the middle of winter and a light competition schedule. The next Men's event is on Saturday July 8th - the 3rd round of the Booth Cup, followed by the Remuera Plate in mid August.
On Sunday the club hosted the CEO's Trophy. This is a one-day event between the Inter Club Champions from Auckland (Titirangi), North Harbour (Wainui), Waikato (St Andrews) and Bay of Plenty (Tauranga). The morning round was Foursomes Gross Stableford - Wainui (113pts) led Titirangi (109), Tauranga (106) and St Andrews (102).
The afternoon round was Singles Gross Stableford with the best individual round from Johnny Tynan (Titirangi) on 36pts. Wainui (including Dell Bain) held on to win by 3pts from Titirangi.
