The annual Battle of the Bridge was fought out at Muriwai on Sunday afternoon.  This is a 10-man Senior team, 8-man Junior team (5 x U19 & 3 x U16), and an 8-man Masters team.

 

The success story came from the Juniors who won 6-2.  Remuera had 3 juniors in the team and they all recorded wins to lead the team to victory - Nathan Smith (U19) won 5/3; Robby Turnbull (2/1) and Finlay McKechnie (1up) were part of the U16 team.

 

The Senior team lost narrowly 4.5-5.5, with our players contributing 2 wins-a half and a loss.  Wins to Daniel Freeman (2up) and James Eng (1up) with Matty Cormack a half.  Steven Oh lost his match 4/3.

 

The Masters team were well beaten 1-7 and Scott Robertson recorded the only win for the team by 5/4.

 

The next event in the programme for the rep players will be selection for the annual matches against Wellington in Taupo in August.
