Nine Hole Ladies Weekly Wrap for Tuesday 26 February

9 Hole Women’s Golf Update

Firstly, congratulations to Sarah Fyfe for a well-deserved win at the Auckland District Convenors’ Day last week. Sarah and Linda Brown represented Remuera at the Nine Hole Tournament played at Whitford Park and, with Linda taking third place, it was a great result for our club. Well done girls.

Also…. while we are talking of winners, eight of our members enjoyed a great day out at Clark’s Beach Open Day yesterday (Monday) with a great performance in the first division from Lesley Mill (2nd), Lynne Couch (3rd), Amanda Wilkinson (6th) and Kyria Warren winning both the longest drive and closest to the pin. A great effort. Well done to you all.

Although not scheduled, we somehow ‘acquired’ another Scramble day yesterday! Results as follows:

Front Nine – Louise Lucena (22 Stableford) $10, Lyn Claasen (20) $5.

Back Nine – Jane Ireland & Jo Farrell (19 Stableford) $8 each.

Twos – Louise Lucena ($15).

Tomorrow (Wed, 27 Feb) is the last Scramble for February. Dates for March as follows: Wednesday 13th and 27th March and Monday 18th March.

Welcome New Members” session with Stephanie Grant – tomorrow, Wed. 27 February (11.30am – 12 noon approx.). A chance for all new members (joining since the beginning of the new 2018/19 season) and anyone else who still considers themselves relatively new to the club to learn more about the club and ask any questions, so you can get the most out of your membership and make sure being part of the club is a positive and enjoyable experience at all times for you. We strongly suggest you make the time to attend tomorrow. Meet around the outdoor seating area by the starter’s office.

Entry for Top Cat competition (first round next Monday,4 March) has now closed (see Dotgolf for your tee times) but Entry and ‘Partners Wanted’ sheets for Greensome Foursomes (11 March) remain on the Noticeboard until next Monday. If you still wish to enter this fun competition please do so as soon as possible.

Thursday, 14 March: Cocktail Party 4.30pm – 6pm. An invitation for all Nine and 18 Holers and Weekend Ladies. This is a great opportunity to mix with and enjoy the company of women members you know and to meet others you don’t know. Food provided (canapes) and a cash bar available. If you wish to attend please put your name on the sheet on the Noticeboard.

OPEN DAYS (For other Nine Hole Ladies clubs)

Information and Entry sheets are now on our Noticeboard for the following two Open Days:

Maramarua – 15 March (Entries close 5 March) Entry fee $25 (includes lunch)

Pakuranga - 21 March (Entries close 11 March) Entry fee $15.

Anyone wishing to attend either or both of these Open Days please pay your entry fee to Jo Hollies, Linda Brown, Sue Olliff or Jane Beveridge.

With autumn officially starting next week we can look forward to possibly the best golf weather of the year coming up over the next few months. Hopefully we can all make the most of it.
