9 Hole Women’s Golf Update

Communication

As mentioned last week apparently some members are not aware of the Nine Hole Ladies content in the Remuera Weekly Wrap and that this is the preferred method of communication by Remuera Golf Club to all sectors of the club including our group. If you happen to play with someone who appears to not be aware of upcoming tournaments, organizational changes and just what is happening in the next couple of weeks can you please mention that the online Weekly Wrap has a section each week specifically for Nine Hole women. Hopefully the answers will be found there!

GREENSOME FOURSOMES

Some much needed rain on the weekend, which cleared in time for a gorgeous day for yesterday’s Greensome Foursomes. We had a field of 60 players.

Results are as follows:

Front Nine: 1st Elizabeth Wong and Madeline Gunn - 29 net ($25 each)

2nd Jill Pickett and Denise Maginess - 31 net ($15 each)

3rd Kath Seton and Helen Shearer - 32 net ($10 each)

Back Nine 1st Linda Bygrave and Wendy Kusabs - 35 net ($25 each)

2nd Louise Doherty and Paula Munkowits - 36 net (15 each)

3rd Lenna Wallace and Amanda Wilkinson - 37 net ($10 each)

AUCKLAND WOMEN’S DISTRICT 9 HOLE TOURNAMENT

Nine players from Remuera entered the district tournament held at Windross Farm on Tuesday March 5th. We all enjoyed the day and are pleased to have won 3 of the 6 prizes!

1st Division: 3rd place Sarah Fyfe

2nd Division 2nd place Linda Brown, 3rd place Leanne Bode

Congratulation girls! A great effort!

DATES TO DIARY

Open Days in April

Entry sheets still to be received (and will be pinned up on the 9 hole women’s noticeboard)

Are 11 April –Whitford Park Golf Club and 18 April Maxwells golf.

N.B. Remuera golf club is closed for coring the week of 8-12 April so this is a good opportunity to play at another club (Whitford) for minimal cost

Scramble Dates For March

Wednesday 13 and 27 and Monday 18

Entry to these scrambles is optional and does not affect the normal Dot Golf bookings. You make your regular booking online to play golf and if you want to enter the scramble on the day there is an option when you get your scorecard to tick yes or no. If yes it will cost you $2.00 to enter the scramble. Tee times are not reserved for scramble only entrants so it does not restrict those who do not want to play in competition from enjoying their own round of golf. Some of the foursome may be in the scramble, some may not.

INTERCLUB

9 Hole Pennants

Sarah Fyfe has very kindly agreed to take responsibility for this aspect of Nine Hole Ladies Golf and we would like to thank her very much for what can be a very time consuming job.

We are in very capable hands with her at the helm!

Our first match is this coming Monday 18th March at Remuera versus Wattle Downs and we would like to wish the team our very best for their first outing of the season.

For this match we will be represented by Sabra Davies, Jo Hollies, Leanne Bode and Yolande van de Wetering. Reserves: Cathy Coll and Jane Beveridge

Other players who have very kindly agreed to be part of an interclub “pool” are Sarah Fyfe, Suzanne Burns, Chris Carroll, Amanda Boberg and Linda Brown.
