Congratulations to the 12 players who contested the Booth Cup Final on Saturday - just making the final is a significant achievement.  This is a 36 hole net competition, and is generally won by 2 rounds around net par.

After the morning round John Hill (67) held a 2 shot lead over John Johnson (69), with a cluster of players in the low 70s.  The best afternoon round came from Rakesh Patel (69) to add to his morning round of 74 - a total of 143.  This was matched by John Johnson in the last group with an afternoon round of 75 - also finishing on 143.

A sudden death play off was necessary with John Johnson's tee shot left and close to the OOB by the driving range.  Rakesh hit a great drive past the bunker but was left with a side-hill/down-hill lie for his second.  John punched out to the right side of the fairway by the 5th tee, and then Rakesh pulled his second OOB left of the green.  John sensibly played safe and 2-putted for a bogey meaning that Rakesh had to get up and down to halve the hole, which he couldn't do.

Congratulations, John - it certainly has been a great year for you.
