The Intermediate Match Play Final was played on Saturday over 36-holes, after a long wait since the semi-finals due to the Coronavirus lock-down.  Kailesh Patel and Chris Hanley set off at 730am and finally finished their battle on the 34th green at about 430pm!

Kailesh established an early lead in the morning - 2up after 9 holes and 4up at the lunch break.  He then won the 1st hole in the afternoon and it looked like it could be over fairly early in the afternoon, but wins to Chris on the 5th, 6th and 8th reduced the lead to just 2.  Kailesh then won the 9th hole, but Chris responded by winning the 11th and we were back to 2up.

Kailesh's par on the 14th left him 3up with 4 to play and a wayward drive from Chris OB on the 16th effectively finished the match in Kailesh's favour 4/2.  This is Kailesh's first golf win and a good one it was too!

The rest of the field began the Winter Cup - 5 rounds with the best 3 scores counting.  Grant Harford go the perfect start with a massive 44pts and leads by 4pts from Krish Krishna.  The field is tightly packed behind them but it was a superb round from Grant - 69 gross with 6 birdies - yes, 6!  Great golf, Grant!

The full list of scores for the Winter Cup is posted in the lobby of the locker rooms.
