There were ominous signs last Tuesday morning of weather disrupting the Closing Day, but against the odds the sun same out and perfect conditions evolved. After a 9-hole fun competition, members enjoyed a glass of wine, canapes and camaraderie before the Annual meeting was held - largely uneventful which is hopefully a positive sign that all is well - followed by Prize-giving.

Joan Reeves handed over the captaincy of women's golf at RGC to Julie Hawkes who will lead us for the next two years.

For many years Joan has been a constant figure at the golf club. Her positive outlook and encouraging approach has made for a great two years both socially and competitively amongst our women members.

Joan's love of golf and her constant championing of women's golf in particular leaves our club in great heart for the years ahead.

Thank you Joan for being so supportive to the Vets and 9-hole golfers - and such a strength to women's golf overall at RGC.
