The clear highlight from this round was the performances of our teams at home. In the morning the Championship 2 team beat Chamberlain Park 8-0 with only Michael Tran's match going to the final hole! This result puts them well in contention for a semi final place with a vital match against Pukekohe at home this weekend. They were followed in the afternoon by our Inter Club teams both winning convincingly - Inter Club 2 beat Howick 6.5-1.5. Howick had gone into this match with a clear lead so the win was particularly encouraging. Wins to Igor & Alex Ivanov, David Evans, David Pedersen, John Etzine & Grant Harford with Krish Krishna the half.
Inter Club 3 then followed that with a 6-2 win over Pukekohe, also the division leaders! Wins to Mike Hyams, Mike Hearn, Kailesh Patel, Chris Hanley, Cameron Pocock and Eamon Wairepo! Now well in contention.
The top 2 teams suffered narrow losses away from home - the Bissett Shield 3.5-4.5 to Akarana at Akarana - wins to Andrew Meng, Matthew Cormack & James Eng, with Nathan Smith the half. Over at Whitford Park another 3.5-4.5 loss to the Championship 1 team - wins to Jaime Lansi, Logan Driver and Matt Evans, with Andrew Hipkiss giving us the half. Important matches this weekend for our semi final hopes - Bissett vs Pakuranga at Pakuranga and Championship 1 vs Titirangi at home.
