The second and final round of the Remuera Plate was played on Saturday afternoon.  The overnight leaders were Duncan Shand, Murray Hieatt, Warren Bygrave and Bernie Edgtton on 128pts.  They were 3pts in front of Barry Hall, Colin Smith, Geoff Hamilton and Nick Lovegrove, who were followed by Brett Winstanley, Greg Kenward, Chris Reid and Derek Finnigan on 123pts.

The greens were a lot smoother than a week ago and better scoring seemed a reasonable expectation.  However none of the top teams scored better than their first round.  Mike Hyams, Steve Eddy, Mark Morphy and John Sims posted 126pts - 6 better than any other team on the day to win the event by 5pts on 246.

Wayne Hirt, Rod MacNeil, Dene McKay and Roger Hudson (122 & 119) finished in second on 241pts.  Brett Winstanley, Greg Kenward, Chris Reid and Derek Finnigan (123 & 117) were just 1pt back in third place.

Special congratulations to Darren Manning - hole in 1 on the 17th.

This Saturday we try and catch up the Booth Cup with the rescheduled Round 3 Qualifier.  This will also double up as the qualifying round for the Captains Prize - best 32 net scores proceed to match play on the following weekend.
