This weekend the Auckland Provincial Championships were held for men and women at Howick Golf Club.  Remuera had 4 men and 5 women reach the match play rounds of the Auckland Provincial Champs - 9 players out of the 32 match play qualifiers.
 
In the Men's section only Connor Barker progressed to the quarter-finals with a win on the 19th over David Kim from Akarana. Similarly only Aileen Du won her match in the round of 16 after beating Amy Im 1up.
Robby Turnbull lost 5/4 to Jimmy Zheng the Stroke Play winner and eventual Match Play winner; Matthew Cormack lost 3/2 to Cameron Harlock; and Kahu Tataurangi lost 5/4 to Joshua Bai.
 
On the Women's side of the draw - Chloe Lam lost on the final hole to Amy Han; Kelly Wu lost 3/2 to Jessica Huang; Keara Harrison lost 5/4 to Anna An; and Grace Jung lost 2down to Mimi Guo.
 
Connor lost his match to Jared Edwards 6/5 in the quarter-final; and Aileen Du lost 3/2 to Caryn Choo.
 
Jimmy Zheng (Howick) completed the double of Stroke Play and Match Play Champion, while Eunseo Choi from Takapuna Golf Club won the Women's Match Play title.
 
For many of our players the next events will be awaiting selection for Auckland to play in the Garrard Shield & Ralph Cup against Waikato, Northland and Bay of Plenty at Maramarua this weekend.  Followed by the Club Stroke Play Championships starting on November 14th.
