Our Presidents Foursomes drew a field of 96 players - 48 teams on Saturday.  The threatened showers didn't really eventuate but it was certainly windy and cloudy. Stephen Bryers and Warren Bygrave set up a significant lead in the morning as they racked up 43pts - a really good score in this alternate shot event.  Mike Hearn/Tony Verner and Krish Krishna/Bryan Thomas were 4pts back in equal 2nd on 39pts, with Colin Smith/Dean Palmer and Kailesh & Rakesh Patel just 1pt behind on 38pts.

Colin Smith & Dean Palmer must have felt reasonably confident when they posted 42pts in the afternoon - a total of 80 is a top score in foursomes.  However, Stephen and Warren returned with 38pts to pip them by 1pt for the trophy.

Stephen Bryers & Warren Bygrave - 81
Colin Smith & Dean Palmer - 80
Krish Krishna & Bryan Thomas - 78
Mike Hearn & Tony Verner - 74
Callum Cameron & Dylan Moore - 73
All played better than their handicaps.

A full list of the results is posted in the lobby of the Men's Locker Rooms.  In the last 2 years Peter Turner & John Johnson won back-to-back, but in better weather conditions they failed to secure their "3-peat".

This Saturday is the second qualifying round for the Booth Cup - net medal.  The best gross score and the 2 best net scores will qualify for the final in November.  A minimum of 2 completed rounds is required to confirm qualification.  Then we begin the Winter Cup (May 22nd) - qualification on net medal, with the top 16 scores qualifying for match play starting on May 29th.
